A consortium comprising Mitsubishi Power and Jurong Engineering Limited (JEL) has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Sembcorp Cogen to develop a 600 MW hydrogen-ready combined cycle power plant (CCPP) in Singapore. The plant is scheduled to commence operations in 2026.
Mitsubishi Power will supply a M701JAC gas turbine, steam turbines and other main accessory equipment for the plant while JEL will provide the construction and BOP (Balance of Plant). Additionally, Mitsubishi Power was also awarded a long-term service agreement (LTSA) for the maintenance of major equipment.
Once operational, the new CCPP will generate electricity for companies on Jurong Island.
