Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) has cancelled the mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) licence of Indochina Telecom, following the latter’s failure to provide services. This move comes after MIC issued a notice to Indochina Telecom to give a time frame for the commencement of its services; the company’s failure to do so led to the cancellation of the licence. Indochina Telecom was awarded the MVNO licence in August 2009; it launched services in 2010 through the military-owned telecom operator Viettel’s network.
