Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems has completed the construction of Unit 1 of the 880 MW Jawa-2 natural gas-fired power plant in Indonesia ahead of schedule. The plant comprises two combined cycle power generation systems and is being developed by Indonesia’s state-owned company Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN). It is located in Java, within the premises of the Tanjung Priok power plant in Jakarta. Unit 1 has started operation as a simple gas turbine system, with an output of nearly 300 MW. The entire plant is expected to be operational by 2019.
