The Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC) has set a target of increasing Malaysia’s clean energy generation to 18 per cent by 2030. Currently, only 2 per cent of the country’s total electricity is generated through renewable sources.  The MESTECC is undertaking various studies to ensure that the national grid is capable of catering to this renewable energy generation mix and is devising strategies to meet this target.
