According to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), the tender for infrastructure works at 1,661 sites involving an investment value of RM 4.6 billion under the National Digital Infrastructure Plan, Jendela, will be closed on March 31, 2021. It is expected to give ample time for any party to participate. Jendela is expected to cost a total of RM 21 billion for setting up the infrastructure. As opposed to 500 sites under the National Fiberisation and Connectivity Plan 2 (NFCP 2) initiative, Jendela has 1,661 sites, which is a threefold jump in terms of the tender size and tender load for the year 2021-22. The government aims to close the 3G network by the end of 2021.
