Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), the country’s telecom regulator, has issued guidelines on the testing procedure for end-point service availability and dropped calls. MCMC has laid down the minimum standards for the quality of service that must be met by telecom service providers in the country: the endpoint service availability rate should be 95 per cent or above and the dropped call rate should be 3 per cent or below. The guidelines have come into effect as of July 9, 2013 and the regulator will carry out tests in the service areas of all telecom operators in the country.
