Japan-based Marubeni Corporation has executed an MoU with a PTT Group subsidiary, the Global Power Synergy Company (GPSC), to jointly develop new independent power producer (IPP) projects in Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia – the “target countries”. GPSC that currently owns approximately 1,040 MW of IPP and cogeneration plants aims to increase its power generation capacity to 6,000 MW by 2022, mainly in the target countries.
