The 5 km Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) project was commissioned on December 29, 2013. The project that includes a 420 metre undersea tunnel has been completed at a cost of S$5.43 billion. The MCE will connect the Kallang–Paya Lebar Expressway and East Coast Parkway in the east to the Ayer Rajah Expressway in the west, with direct connections to the Marina South and Straits View areas. Singapore’s LTA that is implementing the project had awarded the contract for the tunnel work to Penta-Ocean Construction Company Limited.
