Manila Water, sole provider of water and wastewater services in the East Zone of Metro Manila, won five awards at the 55th Anvil Awards held on February 28, 2020. The concessionaire’s communication programme “Water for every disaster”, and the Manila Water Foundation’s programme “Working towards a clean Boracay” won Silver Anvil Awards. On the other hand, Manila Water’s operating unit under the subsidiary Manila Water Philippine Ventures, Laguna Water, also earned two Silver Anvils for its communication tool and programmes entitled “Sewage and treatment process video: Encouraging communities to take part in responsible used water management,” and “Lakbayan: Understanding the water and used water trail.” Further, the Manila Water Foundation’s public relations tool under the publications category called “2018 Annual Report: Framing a new direction” earned the prestigious Gold Anvil for its excellent design and execution.
Presented annually by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), the Anvil Awards are considered a symbol of excellence in public relations. They are awarded to outstanding public relations programmes, tools and practitioners after careful screening by a distinguished multisectoral jury. The PRSP is a leading non-profit organisation, established in 1957, with members from business and industry, government, non-profit organisations, and foundations and entrepreneurs.
