Siti Safinah Salleh has been appointed as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of Malaysia’s Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga). She succeeds Abdul Razib Dawood, who has taken on the role of executive director at the ASEAN Centre for Energy. Prior to this role, Siti Safinah was the CEO of MyPower Corporation, a government agency focused on power sector reforms. Her appointment comes at a crucial time as Malaysia navigates its energy transition, balancing regulatory oversight with sustainability goals. The Energy Commission plays a key role in shaping the country’s electricity and gas sectors, ensuring security, affordability, and sustainability.
