Malaysia has launched its first Malaysian Data Centre Alliance that will oversee the development of data centres in the country and lead initiatives for the growth of the data centre industry. The data centre sector has been identified as a key growth area under the government’s Economic Transformation Programme. The industry recorded revenues of RM 292 million during the first six months of 2013; the figure is forecasted to reach RM 562 million by the end of the year.
