The Government of Malaysia has announced plans to intensify its efforts to position itself as a regional leader in artificial intelligence (AI) through the National AI Action Plan 2030.

Key initiatives include the launch of MyGOV Malaysia, a unified digital platform for all government transactions, with ministries and agencies directed to integrate services swiftly. Alongside this, the government is accelerating the rollout of MyDigital ID, aiming for 15 million registrations by year-end, supported by the National Registration Department. The plan also prioritises expanded internet access across educational institutions, extending coverage beyond universities to colleges and vocational centres.

The plan highlights the importance of building robust digital infrastructure as the foundation of Malaysia’s digital economy. These efforts are intended to ensure technology adoption translates into real-world benefits for citizens while advancing Malaysia’s ambition of AI leadership in Southeast Asia by 2030.
