Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has recorded a 74 per cent increase in domestic passenger movement during September 2021 compared to August 2021. This increase in passenger traffic has been due to the success of the Langkawi travel bubble and the progress of Malaysia’s National Recovery Plan (NRP). During the initial implementation period between September 16, 2021 and September 29, 2021, the Langkawi travel bubble recorded a footfall of 37,000 passenger.

MAHB expects the increasing trend to continue in the upcoming month of 2021 due to the staggered lifting of the interstate and international travel restrictions in Malaysia.
