Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has issued RM800 million in senior sukuk wakalah to improve financial standing under its RM5 billion sukuk wakalah programme. The sukuk offering was nine times oversubscribed, with total orders exceeding RM4.6 billion during peak. The amount of the offering was raised to RM800 million from the initial target of RM500 million to meet demand.

The sukuk was offered in three tranches of RM475 million, RM225 million, and RM100 million, with five, seven, and 10 year maturities each and annual profit rates of 3.87 per cent, 4.14 per cent, and 4.25 per cent, respectively.

The proceeds from the sukuk offering will be used to fund capital requirements and expenditure, general investments or other general business objectives, refinancing of existing and future borrowings, and issuance charges.
