Singapore-based operator M1 has awarded a S$86.77 million contract to Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) to upgrade M1’s core infrastructure to an all-internet protocol network that will minimise network downtime. Based on the contract, NSN will also roll out M1’s 3G network in the 900 MHz band across the country by end-2013. The new 3G network will complement M1’s existing 3G network in the 2100 MHz band.
