Viettel has reported that the subscriber base of the company’s new mobile venture, Lumitel, has reached 1 million in the first four months of operations. At present, the operator has 800 base stations and is planning to deploy 200 additional stations. With this, the operator is seeking to cover 95 per cent of the total population. The operator is also planning to deploy 5,000 km of fibre optic infrastructure as a part of its scheduled entry into the country’s fixed line telecom sector.
