The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has added 6 km of new cycling path on the section between Clarke Quay to Bayfront and Tanjong Pagar in Singapore’s central business district.

The new cycling path will connect to several mass rapid transit (MRT) stations, including Clarke Quay, Tanjong Pagar and Telok Ayer stations as well as the recently opened Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) stations namely Shenton Way, Marina Bay and Gardens by the Bay stations.

With the recent addition, Singapore now has around 21 kms of cycling paths and park connectors within the central business area.

Additionally, LTA has announced that to address growing interest in developing active transport infrastructure in Singapore, developers can apply for its Active Commute Grant to build end-of-trip facilities. As a part of this, LTA will co-fund up to 80 per cent of the construction cost.
