The Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT3) project, connecting Shah Alam, Selangor, and surrounding areas, is expected to commence operations on December 31, 2025, in Malaysia. The line is in the final phase of testing and commissioning to ensure safety, operational reliability, and technical compliance. The ministry is working with Prasarana Malaysia Bhd and other authorities to complete fault-free runs (FFR) before opening.

LRT3 operations will be supported by a workforce of 956 personnel hired by Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd, covering operations, technical, engineering, and support functions. The line will provide enhanced connectivity for commuters in Shah Alam and adjacent areas, integrating with Malaysia’s broader urban transit network.

The project has progressed under Prasarana Malaysia Bhd, with all final commissioning works underway to ensure a safe and reliable start. LRT3’s opening is subject to the successful completion of all tests and technical certifications.
