Solar technology firm LONGi has secured the contract to supply high-efficiency modules for two projects selected for commercial service in 2021 under the Large Scale Solar (LSS) 3 tender in Malaysia. The two sites have a combined capacity of 190 MW and are located in Kuala Muda, Kedah state (90MW) and Kerian, Perak state (100 MW). LONGi will supply Hi-MO5 monofacial and Hi-MO4 bifacial modules.
The LSS3 auction round received 112 bids for a total of 6.73 GW of generation capacity, with five competitive bidders securing a total of 490 MW. The developers had to demonstrate their levels of funding and system design capacity, as well as the component range.
