China-based Longi Green Energy Technology Company Limited (Longi) has delivered modules for a 9 MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) car canopy system in Malaysia. The order was placed by Pekat Solar while MFP Solar is the project’s owner as well as its investor.
The PV system consisting of bifacial modules was installed at Proton Tanjung Malim car manufacturing plant. It covers an area of 9.4 hectares. The car canopy system will be capable of meeting up to 25 per cent of the power consumption at the plant, enough to offset around 11 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
This is the largest car canopy solar system in Malaysia.
