A $6 billion LNG-fired power plant with a capacity of 4,000 MW is expected to be built in the central Vietnamese province of Thua Thien-Hue. The plant will be developed by Chan May LNG JSC, and situated at Chan May port within the Chan May-Lang Co Economic Zone in the southern part of Thua Thien-Hue province. The plant will be built in the first quarter of 2021 and the first phase of commercial operation will begin in 2024. The plant is expected to provide an average electricity output of 24-25 billion kWh per year.
