Lloyd’s Register has started work on the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s contract to undertake operational procedures and technical standards for liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering at the Port of Singapore. The scope of the work involves the identification of technical specifications, LNG bunkering procedures, and the development of human resources to handle bunkering works. The project was awarded to Lloyd’s Register in June 2013. The Port of Singapore is expected to develop the capability and infrastructure to supply LNG as a fuel for ships by 2015.
