Indonesia-based Lippo Group is planning to launch a new satellite-based broadband service in the country, called FirstNet. The move aims to provide internet access to rural and remote areas of the country. The company has already invested between $1.5 million and $2 million on two satellite transponders and has partnered with local satellite operator Adiwarta to support the roll-out of FirstNet. The service is expected to provide broadband access speeds ranging from 2 Mbps to 20 Mbps
