The Government of Laos, Thailand and Malaysia have signed an electricity transmission agreement under the Laos–Thailand–Malaysia–Singapore Power Integration Project (LTMS-PIP), enabling cross-border power trade using existing regional transmission networks.

The agreement allows the transmission of 100 MW of electricity from Laos to Singapore via Thailand and Malaysia over a two-year contract period. It was signed on January 14 in Bangkok by Electricite du Laos (EDL), Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).

This marks the second phase of LTMS-PIP and represents a concrete step toward the ASEAN Power Grid, aimed at strengthening energy security, improving system reliability and promoting efficient regional electricity trade by leveraging existing infrastructure.
