Lao PDR and Thailand have signed an agreement to construct a 1.2 km four-lane bridge at the border. The agreement has been signed with Somboune Souvannachoumkham and Laksay Road and Bridge Construction Company Khamsay Bounmanysidavong. The project is estimated to cost 36 billion kip and is expected to be completed by 2014.
