Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) has announced plans to introduce a cashless ticketing system across its services starting January 2025, affecting regions including Klang Valley and the east coast of Malaysia. This initiative supports Malaysia’s digitalisation goals and aims to streamline ticket transactions.

Meanwhile, the transition to the cashless system occurs, and KTMB will accept cash payments until the end of 2024. The company plans to educate the public on this change and will offer incentives like free rail points and Komuter Link cards to encourage usage.
