Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya PCL), a member of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), has strengthened its role in Thailand’s digital infrastructure sector by completing financing for two major data centre projects in May 2026. The transactions include a USD880 million green loan for a 100 MW data centre project being developed by a joint venture between Digital Edge and B.Grimm Power in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), as well as bilateral financing for a leading Japanese data centre operator expanding its presence in Thailand.

The bank said the investments support Thailand’s strategy to become a regional hub for artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and the digital economy. Leveraging MUFG’s global network and expertise, particularly in Singapore, Krungsri aims to provide end-to-end financial solutions for hyperscalers, digital platforms, infrastructure investors and multinational corporations operating in the data centre sector.

In addition to financing activities, Krungsri has organised seminars and knowledge-sharing initiatives for corporate clients and investors to promote understanding of data centre investment trends and strengthen business networks within Thailand’s growing digital infrastructure ecosystem. According to the bank, increasing demand for AI applications, cloud services and digital platforms is driving strong interest from international investors, particularly Japanese companies seeking overseas expansion opportunities.
