Kim Long Motor has expanded into Thailand through a new distribution agreement with Kijsetthi Mobility. Under the agreement, Kijsetthi Mobility will act as the authorised distributor, establishing a nationwide sales and after-sales service network for Kim Long Motor’s bus portfolio. The offering includes both internal combustion engine and fully electric buses, targeting diverse transport needs and rising demand for cleaner mobility solutions.
All vehicles are manufactured at the company’s production complex in central Vietnam, where Kim Long Motor has achieved a localisation rate exceeding 80 per cent. This enables the company to benefit from preferential tariffs under the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement, enhancing cost competitiveness in export markets such as Thailand.
The partnership is expected to support Thailand’s transition toward more sustainable public transport, while allowing Kim Long Motor to strengthen its footprint in Southeast Asia. The company plans to initially focus on bus deployment before expanding into other vehicle segments tailored to regional conditions. The move reflects growing cross-border collaboration within ASEAN’s transport sector, particularly in electric and low-emission vehicle adoption.
