Keysight Technologies Incorporated (Keysight) will install a 5.8 MW rooftop solar array at the company’s site located in Penang, Malaysia. The system will cover the rooftops of all eight buildings at the Bayan Lepas site and is set to be the largest industry rooftop PV system in Penang. Installation works are scheduled to be completed during 2022.

The system is expected to generate approximately 7.9 million kWh of renewable energy (RE) annually, 16 per cent higher than the total current annual energy consumption at the site. The rooftop solar system is also expected to reduce the equivalent of 5,000 metric tons of carbon emissions in the first year and by more than 95,000 metric tons over the next 20 years.

This move is in line with the company’s commitment in attaining net zero emissions in its operations by the end of fiscal year 2040, as well as the Paris Agreement’s target of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
