Kanfa has secured an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract from Energean Public Limited Company for the supply of a second, 700-tonne oil train for the Energean Power floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit in Singapore, which is presently under construction. The FPSO’s liquid production capacity will be increased from 18 kbopd to 32 kbopd with the addition of the new oil separation module. Engineering work is scheduled to commence soon with assistance from the project execution and delivery team of Energean.

Under the terms of the contract, Kanfa will offer project management, design, acquisition, construction, and pre-commissioning work for the wholly assembled new module in a FPSO module and conversion yard.  A second oil separation train and a flash gas compressor package are included in the new module, which is designed to work alongside the current FPSO processing systems. To maximise benefits from O&M synergies and uniformity, the second oil train and flash gas compressor will be identical to the first.

The FPSO unit has been designed  to minimise carbon emissions from operations and is in line with Energean’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The increased liquids output envisaged by the second oil train will be achieved with no significant additional carbon emissions to the entire project.
