The National Power Corporation (NAPOCOR) has started the commercial operation of the 300 kW Kalayaan diesel power plant in Pag-asa Island. NAPOCOR had invested PHP33 million for the construction of the power plant project which covers the commissioning, delivery, and deployment of the 13.8kv distribution line, diesel generating set and the fuel storage tanks to ensure a steady fuel supply from the plant.
The plant will power 68 facilities in Pag-asa that will be connected to the local distribution line, including residential, government and military buildings.
