RTS Operations Sdn Bhd has selected Jacobs to provide systems consulting services for the 4 km Johor Bahru – Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link. Jacobs will use digital architecture, enforcement and risk management, and portfolio management technologies to provide consulting services for the planning, production, delivery, evaluation, and commissioning of all systems for the project. The line will connect Woodlands in Singapore and Johor Bahru Malaysia, across the Straits of Johor.

The development of the line includes the construction of a second railway bridge across the Johor Straits, with a maximum capacity of 10,000 passengers per hour in each direction, easing traffic at existing border entry points, enhancing cross-border connectivity, and boosting regional economic activity. The project will help promote tourism and real estate industries in major urban districts in both cities, as well as provide a more connected, convenient, and seamless transportation experience for people travelling between the neighbouring countries.

The Government of Singapore and Malaysia are jointly financing the RM13.7 billion RTS Link project. It is expected to commence operations by the end of 2026.
