The Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning (OTP), a unit under the Ministry of Transport (MOT), has announced plans to launch an integrated ticketing system on all modes of public transport in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Joint Ticket Act will address mechanism, administration, operations, and passenger ride rates of the public transport services. Once approved by the MOT, the draft act will be presented to the Parliament for final approval and ratification.

New cards will be issued for the joint ticket. However, the existing EMV contactless cards will continue to be used on ferries and rail.

Further, Bangkok Transit System Corporation Limited (BTSC) has announced plans to collaborate with Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to deploy integrated ticketing on the mass rapid transit (MRT) system and bus transit system (BTS).
