The Government of the Philippines has allocated around PHP1.2 trillion for infrastructure projects in Mindanao over a period of six years. During this period, 1,310 out of the 3,770 (35 per cent) of the government’s priority programs will be located in Mindanao. This is in addition to the 30 out of the 194 high-impact infrastructure projects planned for the island.

Some of the key projects that will be financed include the Mindanao Railway, Davao City Expressway, Cagayan de Oro Coastal Road and the Samal Island-Davao City Connector. It will also finance works on airport projects including the Zamboanga Airport, Bukidnon Airport, and Siargao Sayak Airport.

Other sources of finance for these key projects will be a mix of official development assistance (ODA) and public-private partnerships (PPPs).
