Conrad Asia Energy has awarded a major subsea engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract to Timas Suplindo for the development of the Mako gas field offshore Indonesia.

The contract covers the subsea umbilical, flowline and riser (SURF) package for the Mako gas project, located within the Duyung Production Sharing Contract in the West Natuna Sea. The project is being developed in two phases, beginning with six development wells tied back to a leased mobile offshore production unit with a planned processing capacity of 172 million cubic feet of gas per day.

Gas produced from the field will be transported through an 18-inch pipeline extending approximately 59 km to the KF platform in the adjacent Kakap PSC before entering the West Natuna Transportation System pipeline for domestic supply. First gas production is targeted for the fourth quarter of 2027.

Under the contract, Timas Suplindo will undertake detailed engineering, fabrication, transportation and offshore installation of the SURF system, including flowlines, export pipelines, risers, subsea structures and umbilicals. The company will also support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities through production start-up.

The first phase of the Mako development is estimated to require approximately USD320 million in capital expenditure, with additional investment allocated for owner-supplied offshore production equipment. Conrad Asia Energy previously secured project funding through the farm-out of a 75 percent non-operated interest in the Duyung PSC to Nations Petroleum, part of the Arsari Group.
