The Indonesian government has invited tenders for 18 oil and natural gas working areas. Two of the blocks – East Seringapatam block at offshore East Nusa Tenggara and the Eternal East Block at offshore Maluku – will be offered through regular tender. The remaining 16 blocks will be available for direct offer: companies will carry out a technical assessment through a joint study with the Directorate General of Oil and Gas, after which these companies will receive the right to match the highest bidder in the tender round. Most of the blocks are located in eastern Indonesia. Documents for the two regular tender blocks are available from September 16 to January 27, 2014, while documents for direct offer working areas can be obtained from September 16 to October 30, 2013.
