Indonesia and Australia have jointly received an international award for outstanding road project management from the International Road Federation.

The accolade recognises excellence in the Eastern Indonesia National Roads Improvement Project (EINRIP). This AUD 300 million partnership helped to build and rehabilitate 395 km of roads and 1,300 metres of steel-fabricated bridges across nine provinces in eastern Indonesia. The project harnessed Australian technical skills and expertise to build infrastructure.

EINRIP is a 10-year partnership on road development between the Government of Australia and the Government of Indonesia. It demonstrates innovative practices in design, construction supervision and general management of roads.
