The International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Government of Japan have unveiled a water scheme to provide clean and healthy water in Lanao del Sur, Philippines. Six barangays (villages) with a combined population of over 10,000 people are covered by the water system. Communities, rural areas, schools, and a birthing clinic will all be supported by the water system, which will have 69 tap stands.

The overall expense of the water system was PHP17 million including salaries and benefits with local government funding of PHP3.9 million.

A Single Drop for Safe Water was the implementing partner and worked with the local community contractor Katutungan Irrigators’ Association.
