The Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) has signed a USD503 million agreement to develop and operate the Hang Nadim International Airport (BTH) in Indonesia. Under the terms of the agreement, IIAC will refurbish the current passenger terminal and construct a second terminal to accommodate higher passenger capacity. The firm will also operate the BTH airport for 25 years until 2047. Construction on the passenger terminal is scheduled to commence in June 2022.
The IIAC also plans to install its airport common user system (AirCUS), an operational system for airline check-in and boarding operations, at the Indonesian airport. In 2019, the airport handled around 4.54 million passengers and 44,000 tonnes of cargo. The IIAC plans to expand the airport to accommodate 25 million passengers by 2040.
