International Finance Corporation is considering a proposed USD20 million loan investment to support the expansion of data centre infrastructure in the Philippines through a project led by YCO Global Cloud Centers Holdings.
The proposed financing would support the development and operation of three data centres under the YCO Catalyst project, including two facilities in Batangas with a combined capacity of 50 MW and another planned facility in Bataan. According to IFC, the Batangas facilities have already been constructed, while the Bataan site remains in the planning stage.
The project reflects growing investor interest in the Philippines’ digital infrastructure market as demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence, enterprise outsourcing and digital services continues to rise. IFC noted that supporting infrastructure for the Bataan facility, including transmission, water and wastewater systems, will be developed within the industrial estate hosting the project.
The planned investment comes amid accelerating data centre expansion across Southeast Asia as countries compete to attract hyperscale and AI-driven infrastructure investments.
