Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City Development Bank (HDBank) has granted a VND2,000 billion (approx. USD78 million) green credit facility to PV Power, supporting the country’s clean energy transition through LNG-powered projects. The funding will help finance LNG imports for the Nhon Trach 3 and 4 power plants—Vietnam’s first gas-fired facilities to use LNG as a primary fuel source.

Together, the two plants are expected to deliver 1,624 MW and produce 9–12 billion kWh annually. Nhon Trach 3 is set for commercial operations in Q3 2025, followed by Nhon Trach 4 in Q4 2025. The financing reflects HDBank’s commitment to aligning lending with Vietnam’s 2050 net-zero goals and broader energy diversification plans.

HDBank, which has disbursed VND31,000 billion in green financing since 2019, emphasised that the deal underscores its role in advancing transitional fuels, renewable energy, and sustainable infrastructure through an ESG-integrated risk evaluation system.
