The Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Department of Transport has proposed plans to improve public transport connections to the Saigon Railway Station, which is currently linked to general traffic via two gates on Nguyen Phuc Nguyen Street in Vietnam. Currently, only bus route No. 7 directly connects to the station, meanwhile, other routes like Nos. 13, 30, and 65 serve nearby Cach Mang Thang Tam Street.
The city’s Public Transportation Management Center is planning to introduce bus services connecting the Saigon Railway Station to Ben Thanh Station on the metro line once it is completed. Additionally, the Saigon Public Transport Company Limited is testing electric four-wheelers in District 1 and parts of Districts 4, 5, and 6, with plans to extend the service to the Saigon Railway Station after new traffic laws come into effect in 2025.
