Passengers on the Ho Chi Minh City metro can now use NAPAS domestic cards to pay for tickets, in addition to existing cashless options. The automated ticketing system, developed by Sacombank and partners, supports open-loop technology, allowing commuters to tap their NAPAS cards at entry and exit gates for seamless transactions. NAPAS cards, issued by 25 member banks in Vietnam, comply with the Vietnam Chip Card Standard (VCCS) set by the State Bank of Vietnam.

Along with NAPAS, passengers can pay using Mastercard and QR codes through the HCMC Metro HURC app. Future upgrades will expand acceptance to Visa, JCB, UnionPay, and American Express. Sacombank also offers a promotional VNĐ50,000 reward for new customers obtaining the Sacombank Mastercard Metro Pass before the end of June. The 19.7 km metro line officially began operations on December 22, 2024.
