The Government of Philippines has allocated PHP265 million of initial funding for the Camotes Airport project through the Department of Budget and Management (DBM). The construction of the Cebu’s third domestic airport will be overseen by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) of the Philippines. Works of the project is also expected to start soon although a date has not yet been disclosed.
Once operational, Camotes Airport will reduce travel time between Cebu City and the Camotes Group of Islands from four hours to about 30 minutes.
