The Government of Indonesia has allocated IDR510 billion for the first stage of construction of the new capital in East Kalimantan under the “2022 Government Work Plan”. Residents in North Penajam Paser with relevant skills can participate in the construction process by joining the government-appointed third-party contractor.

In October 2021, the Government of Indonesia allocated around IDR275 billion for the construction of road infrastructure in Sepaku sub-district, North Penajam Paser, as part of the development of the new capital city.
