The Governments of Cambodia and Germany have signed a EUR30 million cooperation financing agreement for the Energy Efficiency in Rural Power Supply II Project. The project aims to increase access to electricity in rural parts of Siem Reap province.

Following the completion of a detailed study, the Ministry of Finance will sign a concessional loan arrangement with the German Development Bank (KfW).

In 2019, the Government of Cambodia received its first concessional loan from the KfW worth USD30 million for the first phase of the Energy Efficiency in Rural Power Supply project.
