The Vietnamese government has approved the construction of the VND 3.27 trillion ($140.8 million) expressway connecting the northern provinces of Tuyen Quang and Phu Tho. The four-lane expressway spanning 40 km will be developed under the BOT model. While around 84 per cent of the funding for the project or VND 2.76 trillion will come from the private operator, the rest will be provided by the government. The operator will be allowed to collect toll for 19 years, from 2023 to 2042, to recoup the investment.
