Globe Telecom has announced plans to deploy 1,800 new LTE-700 cell sites in 2017 as part of its 4G expansion programme. Moreover, the operator plans to fulfil a target of providing mobile coverage to about 95 per cent cities/municipalities in the country as part of its commitment to the National Telecommunications Commission. In addition, Globe plans to continue rolling out its 4G services using the 2600 MHz spectrum, extending its footprint to 1,000 new sites. Globe Telecom plans to deploy the LTE-700 and LTE-2600 technologies mainly in the Metro Manila, Metro Cebu and Metro Davao regions of the country.
