Philippines-based Globe Telecom has received three citations from Finance Asia. These comprise two major company awards and an individual category citation.

Globe was recognised as the company Most Committed to Corporate Governance and Best in Investor Relations. Globe President and Chief Executive Officer, Ernest Cu, was voted Best Chief Executive Officer in the Philippines. The same citations were awarded to Globe by Finance Asia in 2015.

The citations are based on a survey conducted by Finance Asia which seeks investors’ views on listed companies around Asia that are considered to be best managed, with the best senior executives. Finance Asia received responses from 129 portfolio managers and buy-side analysts from around the world, running mandates that included, or were dedicated to, Asian listed companies.

In December 2015, Globe had also bagged the Bell Awards for Corporate Governance, awarded by the Philippine Stock Exchange, in recognition of the leading telecommunication company’s commitment to upholding the principles of and following best practices in governance. Earlier, a similar citation was given to the company by the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) as well. Globe was in the top three in terms of corporate governance among listed companies in the Philippines and in the top 50 among listed companies in the ASEAN region.

In 2015, Cu was also included in the elite list of Global Telecoms Business Power 100. Cu was the only Filipino executive to make it to the Power 100 and to the top 10 in Asia. The recognition was based on his success in steering the company to growth despite intense competition in the Philippines telecom market.
