Globe Telecom Incorporated (Globe) and Phil-Tower Consortium Incorporated (PhilTower) will collaborate to deploy 500 additional cell sites in the Metro Manila and Luzon during 2021. The latest 4G and 5G technologies will be used in this telecom infrastructure project.
PhilTower has mapped a two-year strategy to prepare for the mainstream adoption of 5G in Philippines. It is using small cells-based digital shared infrastructure to enable coverage improvements in suburban and rural areas, increase network densification in metropolitan regions, and improving in-building coverage. PhilTower is a member of a regional conglomerate that has operations in Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, and the Philippines.
